KRAPINA NEANDERTHAL MUSEUM is one of the most famous and important discoveries of prehistoric people in Europe, and due to that at the end of 19th century the Hušnjakovo hill (Krapina) was listed on the world map of paleontological natural monuments. The museum opened its doors in 2010 and in an interesting way it represents a mysterious way of human evolution. The exhibition is a kind of the time machine which takes us back to the beginning of cosmic evolution and leads us to modern times. The biggest attraction is a hyper realistic reconstruction of a stone age habitat, a work by Elisabeth Daynes, a sculptor. The museum was nominated for European museum award of the year in 2012.
Ethno-village Kumrovec is most traditionally decorated space in Croatia visitors for an authentic look of Zagorje village from the early 20th century. With over forty restored buildings of traditional architecture found out how our ancestors lived. Daily life of farmers and their families showing various traditional crafts with the residents of the village of Zagorje. There are traditional garden and gardens, barns and everything is made of a rich mosaic of life in the countryside.
Pick-up at 10:00 AM in front of Your Hotel. 30-45 minutes scenic drive from Zagreb to Krapina and Neanderthal Museum. Upon arrival, visit the museum (max 2 hours). At 1:00 PM, drive to the elite restaurant Vuglec Breg for lunch. After lunch short drive towards Ethno-village Kumrovec for an authentic look of Zagorje village from the early 20th century. Return to Zagreb.
