II. ONE DAY TRIP TO THE NATURE PARK BIOKOVO
We also offer you a trip to one of the most beautiful Nature Parks in Dalmatia which is located near the little town Makarska on the Dalmatian coast, only an hour and half away from Split. Biokovo is a mountain that emerges from the sea and offers his visitors unforgettable panoramic views of the Makarska Riviera and the areas around the park itself. The park is also unique because of its geomorphology and its biological diversity which was the main reason why it was proclaimed a Nature Park in 1981. It offers its guests many activities, so you can choose between walking to the look-out points, educational trails, visiting the botanic garden or presentation and information centers, rock climbing, cycling or even paragliding. After the sightseeing we will have lunch at one of the local restaurants in the park with traditional meal offers.
After one of the tours or your stay in Split, we will continue our drive to Makarska, an interesting, small and very touristic town on the Croatian coast. We will check in at the hotel 4* and in the evening take a walk around the city.
The forth day of the tour includes an all-day swimming experience. The planned departure from Makarska is around 8.30am in the morning and we will go towards the South of Dalmatia until we arrive to the so-called Bacinska jezera, which are a collection of lakes near the town of Bacina. The lakes are relatively small (138 hectares) but they align in the most interesting phenomena in krast hydrography. After a little more than an hour driving, the interesting thing that awaits for you on the Bacina lakes is a tour of stand up PADDLE SURFING! The tour lasts 2 hours, it begins with practical exercise on the land, then with practice on the “Sladinac” Lake and starting the tour, then we paddle to the biggest lake, around the Island of Love and stop at a natural water spring, then we pass under the “Ždrioc” – old bridge to reach the “Crniševo” Lake, and after that is swimming time. During the swimming time you can enjoy a fruit picnic at a secret location, and after that we will paddle back to the starting point and finish the tour at the beach bar where you can enjoy the relax zone hanging and swinging in a hammock. We will then have lunch at the Bacina lakes and continue our tour to the Usce of Neretva – called a happy place where people walk on water. On the Usce you can also have a swim or if you are brave enough you can go kite boarding, if not, we always recommend to take a swim, have a cup of coffee and enjoy a place which words cannot describe in the sunset.
After swimming we will continue our drive to Metkovic which is half an hour away and check in the hotel 3*.
After morning breakfast, we will head out to our photo safari tour on the Neretva river which offers you an unmarkable experience. You will drive in a traditional local boat (which fits 22 people) through the effluents and the channels of the river which will feast your eyes and spirit. While sailing down the river, followed by traditional songs, we will take a peek into the untouched heart of the Neretva Wetlands and then arrive to the Neretva house, a place which can only be reached by water. The Neretva house is located on the bottom of a hill on the coast just nearby the river. The place will show you the real Neretva spirit, from the traditional design, to the friendly hosts and most important traditional cuisine. You will be served with traditional meals as the famous brudet, a meal made out of eels and frogs. You will also have the chance to sweeten yourself with their desert made of tangerines from the surrounding fields. Tasting local specialties prepared in a traditional way in an authentic ambience is an unforgettable experience, which stays forever engraved in the heart of every tourist after visiting the Neretva house. Because of the atmosphere in the house there will be free time for relaxing after desert, maybe time for some homemade wine and a refreshment by swimming in the lake Kuti. After the whole afternoon at the Neretva house the boats will take us back to the starting point where we will begin our half an hour drive to the Rizman winery, one of the most beautiful wineries in Dalmatia. Except the modern wine tasting house and the traditional prosciutto and cheese that you will be served, there is also one thing that distinguishes the Rizman winery from anything else, and that is the panoramic view on the peninsula Peljesac and the Croatian indented coast. After the wine tasting and some photos of the sunset we will continue our drive to Dubrovnik which is less than 2 hours away. In the evening we will check in the hotel 4* in Dubrovnik.
After breakfast around 8.30am we will head to the old city of Dubrovnik, one of the most important historic and touristic places in Croatia.
